Northern Bear is the holding company for number of businesses providing materials and services to the construction industry in North East England.

Although Northern Bear plc is a relatively new company (it started trading on the London Stock Exchange in December 2006) most of the businesses within the group have been trading successfully for many years.

The businesses within the Northern Bear group operate with a high degree of autonomy and run their own administrative and accounting functions. The group’s head office controls strategy, policy, overall financial planning and consolidates the group’s companies’ accounts.

There are currently 10 trading subsidiaries in the Northern Bear group which together employ over 350 people in the North East region. Northern Bear is aiming to become one of the main suppliers of specialist services to the building and construction industry in the region.
